As a self-initiated project during the pandemic, our objectives were to:

• Explore a product concept at the intersection of health, food, and technology
• Use barcode scanning and open APIs to deliver personalized recipe suggestions
• Validate the concept through early user research and iterative prototyping
• Investigate potential for a future entrepreneurial venture

Role & Process

As Lead Designer, I drove the end-to-end product design process, including:

Discovery & Strategy

• Defined the product’s value proposition and vision
• Conducted a competitive audit of recipe, meal-planning, and barcode-scanning apps
• Mapped out business opportunities using a Lean Canvas

User Research

• Launched a survey with 50 respondents aged 20–35 to explore home cooking behaviors
• Conducted follow-up interviews with 8 participants to uncover deeper pain points
• Synthesized insights into personas and opportunity areas
